There are in every product some disadvantages to work with. Keep in mind that the disadvantages of this GPS is that all the Garmin Nüvi 295Ws needs Wi-Fi for connectivity, which we found a little tricky to connect everywhere we go. The screen resolution is a bit low for Web browsing and the Nuvi 295W lacks proper traffic data, highway lane guidance, and Bluetooth hands-free calling, all very useful features for in-car navigation. The real question question about the latest version Garmin Nuvi is, what do you get when you buy this navigator? The answer obviously is just a normal Garmin Nüvi. Well that is not exactly the case with this Nuvi, as the Garmin Nuvi 295W have more than a few of its smart bits, with a 3-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The latest Nuvi basically look the same on the outside. The Nuvi 295W is black, with a soft-touch finish. The Nuvi measures 4.4 inches tall by 2.3 inches wide by 0.5 inch thick and have a 3.5-inch, 65,000-color touch screen with a 272x480-pixel resolution, which is a little bit small for in-car navigation. The screen still has a reasonable brightness with great deep colors and remains fairly visible in all bright light, except in the most direct sunlight.

The screen and looks of the Nuvi should be immediately familiar to people who ever used a Garmin Nuvi-branded PND in the last ten years. The Nuvi's bright featured menus and maps, colorful icons and older features stand out, while the Nuvi is fairly basic-looking, are crisply rendered and easy to understand for anyone who uses it. The keyboard, which is being used to type in destinations and the 295W's various applications, also have the feature to orientate the screen to portrait and landscape. The easiest to use is landscape,because of its special key spacing feature.

Under the cover, the 295W has nearly the same features and hardware than the Nuviphone G60 with the lack of an antenna and a SIM card slot. The 295W have Wi-Fi antenna and can connect to the internet in search of any data to accompany its various auxiliary functions. There were problems to fully connect to public hot spots, but the other network worked very good and the WEP secured home network was accessed easily and quickly.
